Explaining the Female Sex Drive

While it is typical for a girl to reject her boyfriend's request for sex, it is seemingly odd if it's the other way around. Most guys wonder why sometimes females get offended when they turn them down in bed. What if he's just that tired? Or he is undergoing depression? Should they still go on even if their "manhood" finds it hard to stand up?

The female sex drive is a complicated subject. It is one of the mysteries in anatomy that scientists have had a hard time figuring out. Actually, even the women do not know how their sex drives work. All they know is that once it is there, it must be fulfilled.

It is difficult to pin down the sex drive of women because of their ability to indulge in sexual acts even if they're not in the mood. Women can "fake it". On the other hand, men are blunter about their sexual desires. They can be very straight forward to what they want to achieve and that is get laid.

According to studies, the female sex drive is influenced by the environment, setting, and the emotional component. Women associate sex with their emotions. While men's sex drive is tied with their biological purpose and that is to reproduce. Nevertheless, both genders want and need sex. It is an instinctive urge that we all feel no matter how hard we stop it.

However, there are times that we are not in the mood. This can happen in both genders; not just for the ladies. While it would be very odd, or infrequent, for guys to not be persuaded by their girlfriends' seduction, there are incidents that may lower the sexual urges of men. It can be due to medication, depression, stress or problems that distract his attention.

Some women get offended when guys turn them down. It is because the peek of a girl's sex drive is usually the time when she feels prettiest or sexiest. If your girlfriend asks you to have sex with her, it means her confidence level is high that time. Turning her down may damage her self esteem.

She may doubt herself especially on her looks. It is a noted fact how women value their physical appearance. They get their confidence from the male's approval of their beauty. So if they get turned down, they may feel unwanted and unattractive.

Communication plays a vital role in this. In order to avoid hurting your girl's feelings, open up about your problems in the office or with your family. It is better that she knows what's going on inside your head before her urge kicks in. She may even give you advice on how to fix your problem.
